*UPDATE*: I did a course on skillshare.com on editing in Premiere Pro CC, and it’s so much easier to use now! I also learned all of the shortcuts so you guys can stop nagging at me about that lol. ADOBE WINS!!!!

In today’s vlog, iMovie and Adobe Premiere Pro go head to head in an epic battle to be my favorite video editing software. WHO WILL WIN?! I also make a smoothie.

Don’t forget to click the LIKE button and help me reach my 5k goal by super punching SUBSCRIBE!

By the way, I figured out how to export videos from iMovie in 1080p (HD)!

I understand completely. If I learn more about it, I'm sure it will be awesome. A lotta learning in this YouTube thing.

  • Virokk Gaming says:

Premiere is one of the most easy editing software if you know what you are doing more advanced than final cut or any other software

Thank you very clear. I use imovie occasionally, but I'd like to get more into video. Issue I have with iMovie is that if I have some long clips where there is a little good footage I can not spit the source clip in the library and trash what I do not need to keep. Is it possible with Adobe Premiere Elements? Also I have an issue with color / contrast adjustments, the way they are applied is very coarse without numeric values. Is Pr better that way? Thank you!

to get to the cut tool you have to press C on your keyboard and mouse is V. I edit my videos with premier pro so I know

  • The Gaming Ninja says:

I movie does too much for you and I don't like it, I rather be able to do what I want with my clips, that is why I like premiere and the only apple editing software I would use is final cut

Mate your comparison imovie vs. primier is really simple and easy to understand!! so I like that part!! Thanks for that 😉

Thanks for your comments about iMovie v Premiere Pro. They mirror my experience exactly. I thought I was being such a "weenie" for not liking the "better" program.

i'm using adobe suit now and its takes some learning ; I am also using cyber director you might want to check it out . not trying to advertise for them but they do have a very simliar yearly package 10 times cheaper then adobe and it does the work for you … adobe is for people that want to create more but cyber is a tool for people that want to spend more time on their content and not so much time learning the vide software…. both have a place for me at least

I have been using iMovie but considering switching to Adobe Premiere Pro. I like iMovie probably because I'm a creature of habit but for my films it has been working well. All your info and below comments were really helpful…. Thanks!

Learn the short cuts of premiere and imovie man. It will increase your workflow 100%! Example: To split a clip in imovie you hit (CMD + B) and it splits and in premiere you hit (c) and you get the razor tool and you click to cut it an hit (V) to get the selection tool back.

Use Movie Maker or iMovie then export. Color correction, other effects (not composites) in Premiere Pro. Composites in iMovie or After Effects.

  • Mark Russell says:

if your editing a clip in Premiere just find where
you want to cut it and hit either Q or W, just try it I'm on a phone and don't want to type it out. Trust me on this.

yeah dude you're kind of putting a Ferrari vs a go-cart. premium pro is a professional editing software. it's in the top three in the world. I have been editing for a few years and yeah it's hard. if you want to be a film editor or have some sort of job editing you really don't need adobe. I have a 3 monitor set up and a 2000 dollar pc just for editing and I still don't know %100 about adobe. Yeah dude if you want a simple editor for YouTube go I movie the dudes that made deadpool and fight Club use adobe.

  • You Know that if you click those keys that pop up when hover over the things you can do it that way instead of going over and clicking
